Urban Hideaway Scrapbook |

|
We decided that we wanted a web page of our own so we went about learning how to make one.. this is a lot like that way we came about creating the Hideaway too. We had both been traveling like crazy for a while and wanted to create something that was unlike any other hotel that we’d ever seen.. A home for us and a home away from home for our guests, a simple place where you can come and live amongst fellow adventurers..
So we restored this big Victorian Era House (circa 1896) right in the middle of Vancouver (Our favorite big city by far) where it was easy to get around to anywhere you might want to get to in town, surrounded by beauty and mountains, and so close to the ocean that you can smell it in the morning. Anyways, we’re a little different. Simple, spotlessly clean and relaxed in a way that is truly West Coast. |
|
The reason that the house has managed to survive (it’s 113 yrs old and about the last one left downtown!) is because it is extremely well hidden amongst the sky scrapers. In fact, the Guesthouse is so well hidden that walking by, most people would never even know it was there. |
|
Because we’re both nature freaks and we’re so downtown, we rebuilt our rooftops and filled them with flowers and birds and gardens, and stuff. |

Like BBQ’s for instance.. |

Or just a quiet moment away from the hustle and buzz of the downtown. |

Unlike the other pics, this wasn’t taken here but on one of Ken’s Ridge-Walking Trips. However, it was such a cool shot we just had to share. |
